Just Drums in Toronto, Canada’s largest drums-only specialty shop is celebrating a milestone achievement of 30 years in business being on forefront of the Canadian music retail scene. From opening our doors in 1984 on Yonge Street in North York to relocating to a larger, more impressive space at 137 Willowdale Ave in 2007, Just Drums has continued to be as passionate as ever about serving our drumming customer base.
Many of the all-time greats have paid visits to our shop. From the ‘Just Drums Live’ clinic series with legends like Steve Gadd, Vinnie Colaiuta, and Dennis Chambers at the original Yonge Street store, to in-store signings and more clinics in our current location with modern giants like Daniel Adair, Chris Adler, Thomas Lang and Benny Greb (just to name a few!). Then there’s also been drumming titans like Steve Jordan deciding to pop by “just to hang”. There’s lots of drumming history in the JD walls.
A true Canadian family business from the ground up, owners Dave Hamilton and son Ryan, as well as the whole team at Just Drums, are very proud to be a part of something that has remained relevant and vibrant throughout the years and in today’s economy. Showcasing the industry’s best products and offering value with exceptional service to every customer has always been the driving goal. The showroom at 137 Willowdale is certainly a spectacle every drummer needs to check out!
Specializing in sales/service of acoustic & electronic drum kits, world percussion, hardware/accessories and educational materials, as well as offering a full lesson school since day one, Just Drums has been fortunate to be the doorway to musical discovery for drummers of all ages and skill for 3 decades now.
Through the commitment of building long-term relationships with customers and offering courteous, respectful, and honest service, Just Drums has been able to maintain a loyal customer base while successfully adapting to all of the changes the Canadian retail landscape has seen throughout the last 30 years. We are very optimistic that our manta of “Drummers helping Drummers” will keep us rolling for many more years.
